According to Joe Montes, president, “Of all the things a prospective seller should consider, ‘unresolved complaints’ should be on top of your list. These are a clear-cut warning that tells you something is amiss with this buyer because where selling your valuable property is concerned, a bad experience from prior sellers is indeed a red flag warning. Here, that old adage really applies: “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.”
The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is a Prime Resource
The BBB has been recording complaints from unhappy customers for more than a century. Equally important, they keep detailed records about complaints and won’t charge you anything to read them. The facts are just a simple mouse click away on the BBB website http://www.BBB.com .
Let’s be frank. Any company that does a high volume of business online or offline, is bound to garner a few complaints from disgruntled customers and not all of these are justified. Some folks are just never happy! However if they remain unresolved, this tells you that the buyer’s customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Equally important, lots of complaints and/or pending lawsuits, is a further indication that selling your gold, silver or platinum property to this company might just be a very bad idea. An honest, ethical business will have a customer service group that will make every-possible effort to resolve a customer’s complaint and, in most cases, they will.
Most complaints fall into categories such as these:
- · They keep telling me my property never arrived
- · The check I received was far less than my items were worth
- · My emails and telephone calls don’t get me any help
- It’s been a week since my items arrived and I still don’t have a check.
Joe Montes added, “We can’t overemphasize just how important it is to check-out an Internet buyer if you haven’t dealt with them before. Start with the BBB and also look at a few sites on the web that record consumer complaints. Websites such as Rip Off Report.com, Consumer Complaints. com and Cash for Gold Complaints.com are all valuable resources you should check with before mailing-out your property to a buyer.
We also suggest strongly that you not be sold a bill of goods just because you’ve seen a buyer’s commercials on TV. Check them out. It’s FREE and it pays in the end to be careful.”
