According to Joe Montes, president, “We are justifiably proud that we don’t have any unresolved complaints on record with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) or anybody else. The best way to illustrate what an unresolved complaint looks like, is to show a couple. These were copied from the BBB’s ‘Trust Link’ website”. The identity of the Internet buyer and the sender have been removed:
Do NOT send your jewelry to this company. I received the same response about them not receiving my jewelry. I kept e-mailing and <’Name’> kept telling me they did not get it and he was putting it through to their claims dept. I received the ‘claim form” but e-mailed them to let them know the $100 was unacceptable. I got my e-mails returned as undeliverable. So I called, left a voice mail and never got a phone call. So I e-mailed <’Name’> and have never heard from him.
I only used them because I read about them in Consumer Reports Magazine. I should have checked them out further.
SCAM SCAM SCAM
I will persue this. They can keep the $100…
I SENT MY PACKAGE OUT ON 1/4/2010 AFTER 3 WEEKS OF GETTING THE SAME MESSAGE OF “PACKAGE NOT RECEIVED”, I DECIDED TO CONTACT THE OFFICE, I WAS TOLD MY PACKAGE WAS LOST IN THE MAIL AND I SHOULD BE RECEIVING AN INSURANCE CLAIM FORM AND I WILL BE REIMBURSED UP TO $100. I KNOW THE STUFF I SENT WAS WORTH MUCH MORE THAN THAT. HOW CAN THIS COMPANY BE ALLOWED TO STILL DO BUSINESS AFTER SO MANY COMPLAINTS? I WILL RATHER NOT GET THE $100 AND FOLLOW THIS THRU TO THE END. ITS UNFORTUNATE HOW COMPANIES CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF CUSTOMERS AND GET AWAY WITH IT. I PERSONALLY WILL BE TAKING OTHER MEASURES TO TRY TO EXPOSE THIS COMPANY TO THE PUBLIC. I GOT TWO DIFFERENT PHONE CALLS FROM MANAGERS TO SUPERVISORS, AND THEY ALL SAID THE SAME.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY YOU WILL NEVER SEE YOUR JEWELRY AGAIN, MUCH LESS A CHECK.
The above two ‘unresolved complaints’ are rather typical examples. However, there are a variety of subjects including unreasonably-low payouts; property having been melted down before payout was accepted; long delays in receiving payment—and more! They point out the importance of checking out any Internet buyer of precious metals on the BBB website http://BBB.com and other complaint websites before selecting a company to sell your gold, platinum or silver to. If you find a bunch of complaints like these on record, look elsewhere. You don’t need either the financial loss or the aggravation of being in a position like these sellers were in.
Cash for Gold Co is fully committed to the best-possible customer service and to quickly resolve any seller problems that might arise. The company pays the ‘highest-possible percentage of the actual value of a customer’s precious metal property based upon assay and the spot market price of the metal at that time’. They buy precious metals of every type, condition, age or place of manufacture and offer SECUREPAK mailing envelopes that are pre-insured for up to $1,000 each and optional pre-paid FedEx shipping as well. To request one or more SECUREPAK envelopes, go to the Cash for Gold Co website at : http://www.cashforgoldco.com and fill out a simple form. That’s all there is to it!
