Capitol Insurance Companies (“Capitol”), a national provider of specialty property-casualty insurance and commercial surety products, is pleased to announce the appointment of Alan S. Ogilvie to the position of Chief Operating Officer.
Mr. Ogilvie joined Capitol in 2004 and was previously Capitol’s Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. In his new role, Mr. Ogilvie will be responsible for Capitol’s property and casualty underwriting, claim, marketing and operations units, as well as continuing to be responsible for the legal and governmental affairs of Capitol. He has over 20 years of insurance industry experience having held a broad range of executive positions within the industry. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a B.B.A. in Risk Management and Insurance/Marketing, as well as a law degree. Mr. Ogilvie will report to Mr. David F. Pauly, Capitol’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman.
